Castlevania Dracula's Height Demotivational

Ever noticed how when he was still the human Mathias Cronqvist, he was about the same height as Leon Belmont. But you noticed how in every game you fight Dracula he is always two or more times the size of the player.
Even in Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, Gabriel Belmont starts off being possibly slighty above the average height, yet in the transition to modern day he is far taller than Zobek.
What happened? Does being a vampire make you still have growth spurts? Or is it just Dracula whose height changed after he became a vampire? If that is true that still doesn't answer why is he much taller.
Yeah, I know that its for the gameplay aspect in the 2D, but that doesn't explain the times in the 3D games where he is taller than the protagonist.

I love how most comments about this are pretty good theories as to why he is taller. Keep them coming everyone.
